In this video we’ll show you how to create an Advertiser, add it to your customizable dashboard, as well as organize the Advertiser in a corporate hierarchy, and add extra details to the advertiser’s profile in Bionic.
One of the challenges you face as a media planner is keeping track of the details of your advertiser accounts and the special arrangements you have in place for each one. Bionic gives you a handy tool to keep all this information organized and up-to-date.
Let’s get started. On your dashboard, simply click the “See All” button to the right of the advertisers header.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll see a list of all Advertisers you currently work with. To create a new advertiser, simply click the Add New Advertiser button in the upper right corner of your screen.
This brings up a window with information you can add about the particular account. This includes the primary currency they use, their parent company if they have one, as well as their website to make accessing their branding and other information easy.
After all this basic information is entered, press the Add Advertiser button on the bottom left of the window.
This will take you to a more detailed area with expanded options for entering more information if needed. You may add the advertisers’ logo here by clicking the Upload Logo button. Choose the logo you’d like to add from your computer, and press Open to add it to your account, and then Upload Logo again to finish the upload.
On the left hand side of your screen you’ll see a menu with options to enter further details about this account. Let’s go to the Contacts section and add some more information!
Under the Advertiser section, click the Add New button to enter any pertinent contact information on whom to contact about this account. Simply enter the e-mail of this person in the popup window and press Next.
Here you’ll see if a contact with this e-mail is already saved in this system. You can also add a Role for this person with the drop down present on this screen. Let’s choose Main Contact, then star this person as the Main Contact for this Advertiser. After you’ve done this, press the confirm button, and your contact will be added to your Bionic account as the Main Contact for that account.
The Currency link also gives you more detailed options for dialing in your individual campaigns and even using multiple currencies at once. With Bionic, you can work with virtually any currency in the world; the system will automatically handle all the tricky accounting rules. You can use this section to change your main currency. You can enable the use of multiple currencies for line items and proposals under this account by clicking the Allow button on screen.
Under Agency Compensation you can specify your commission structure. This is optional and only useful if you operate on commission. This section includes multiple Media Commission options, or a Fee Per Line and Fixed Campaign Fee.
In the Media Commission area you can choose to enter a percentage of the commission to give based on gross media cost or net media cost. Bionic will automatically calculate your commission, saving you both time and money. Don’t worry – you can always override this on a line by line basis in your media plan.
Under Ad Serving you can specify your standard ad serving CPM rate. Under Default Ad Serving’s Overage Buffer you can add some wiggle room for typical delivery overages. Again, don’t worry – you can always override this on a line by line basis in your media plan.
If you need to organize your advertisers into a corporate hierarchy, click the menu button on the top left of your screen. This will bring out a side menu showing a drop down of your advertisers and the hierarchy they currently exist under.
In our example, you can see Elon Musk industries in the drop down organized into the appropriate hierarchy. You can also organize your accounts by region, an example being Tesla Americas, underneath with are a number of different countries and regions.
We’ll practice rearranging the hierarchy by moving Tesla Brazil, Tesla Canada and Tesla USA underneath Tesla Americas. To do this in the hierarchy simply mouse over the menu item you wish to move, press and hold your right mouse button and drag it over Tesla Americas and release. This will add it to the hierarchy.
The account hierarchy is useful for reporting later on in your campaigns, and looking at media plans and results from both individual and hierarchies of advertisers to measure overall success for your client.
This concludes this overview about setting up an advertiser in Bionic.
